Alloy Steel Wire
Alloy steel wire is a steel wire produced by drawing alloy steel coils as raw material. Alloy steel wire has better performance than carbon steel wire or carbon steel wire does not have. The types of alloy steel wire include alloy tool steel wire, bearing steel wire, alloy spring steel wire, alloy welding wire, alloy cold top forging wire, and stainless steel wire. Compared with the production of carbon steel wire, alloy steel wire has its own special characteristics in terms of raw material requirements and production process.
Alloy structural steel grades are many, but basically can be divided into two categories, namely pearlite and bainite type, and the former is the majority. The diameter of the finished wire is about 2 to 10mm, and there are two delivery states of cold-drawn and heat-treated. Alloy structural steel wire is generally used to make components, so it is required to have the specified dimensional tolerances, surface quality, intrinsic quality and processing properties, of which the surface quality will directly affect the component manufacturing process into the rate of material and the service life of the components. The steel should have the required low level of organization and non-metallic inclusions.
Applications
Alloy Tool Steel Commonly used steels for alloy tool steel, high speed tool steel and alloy die steel. This kind of steel carbon content and alloying elements content is high, so the hardness is high, plasticity is poor, pulling is more difficult. Raw materials are usually spheroid annealed, spheroid annealed quality of the most is the key to drawing can be carried out successfully. Alloy tool steel wire with sulfuric or hydrochloric acid pickling, some with sulfate acid mixed pickling. Drawing with a lime coating or lime coating containing lime powder for lubrication. As some high-carbon high-alloy tool steel cold-drawing deformation is more difficult, sometimes in the production of warm drawing to change the drawing deformation conditions.
Alloy welding wire Alloy steel wire suitable for arc welding, gas welding, submerged arc automatic welding, electroslag welding, especially gas shielded welding and other purposes. Made of special alloy structural steel, including manganese and manganese silicon, manganese molybdenum, manganese silicon molybdenum, manganese silicon molybdenum titanium, manganese molybdenum vanadium, chromium molybdenum, chromium molybdenum, chromium nickel molybdenum, chromium manganese silicon. The chemical composition of the steel wire for welding has a great impact on the quality of the weld, the role of adding certain alloying elements in the steel is: (1) deoxidation; (2) strengthen the weld; (3) control the carbon content. When the carbon content is high, the weld is prone to cracking, porosity and spatter; so the carbon content of the wire is generally lower than that of the main metal, and its strength loss is made up by the strengthening alloying elements. Welding wire is usually delivered in a cold-drawn state, but according to user requirements can also be supplied after heat treatment, pickling and cleaning or supply a certain tensile strength of the wire. In order to increase electrical conductivity, submerged arc automatic welding and gas shielded welding wire generally requires a copper plating on the surface and a firm and uniform plating. The surface finish (degree of corrosion) and cleanliness (degree of oil contamination residue) of the wire also have an impact on the quality of the weld. A high degree of surface finish and cleanliness results in good conductive contact, stable arc, and less spatter, which improves the quality of the weld. In order to improve the degree of finish, a higher total surface reduction rate and a higher number of drawing passes should be used in the finished drawing process. Lubricants can affect the surface cleanliness and should be chosen reasonably. In addition to solid welding wire, the production of tubular (flux-cored) wire has also seen great development.
Alloy cold top forging with steel wire More than used to manufacture the more important rivets and bolts, the main steel rivet screw special manganese steel, chromium manganese silicon steel, chromium silicon nickel steel. The main requirements of the steel wire are: high surface quality, to ensure that the cold top forging does not crack; high toughness.
