Highly accurate, seamless stainless steel capillary tubing is used in a variety of instrumentation measurement applications. This tubing is constructed with thick walls and small diameters (typically 1/8" or less) for critical applications ranging from nuclear reactors to resistance injectors in aerospace.

Advantages

Because the high-quality seamless capillary tube is made from a single piece of homogeneous steel with a continuous, uninterrupted grain structure, it is better suited for applications that require consistent material throughout the tube. Welded seams and mechanical joints can create discontinuities that encourage crevice corrosion and mechanical failure.
High quality stainless steel allows for a passive protective layer to form on the surface in the presence of oxygen. Since different alloying elements have different melting points, poor heat treatment and welding can alter the critical chemistry in the heat affected zone (HAZ), thus affecting the layer.
